College applications should present your child as a package --this is a marketing process. Applicants must carefully choose topics that bring their applications together in one complete picture. Let's face it. We all wish the admissions officers could know each child personally before making a decision, but that is not practical. The essay tells your child's story.

Finding a Topic

In planning for application season, students need to carefully consider what topics they will be using for their admissions essays. Finding a topic that conveys real passion, creativity, and courage is instrumental

Finding the Time

Too often the essay-writing part of the process is left until the last moment, leaving no time for careful consideration and revision of work. Students frequently turn their family's Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks into a mad rush to complete the all-important essay because they don't start rough drafts in the late summer and early fall when they have more time.

Putting the Best Foot Forward

Equally important to an essay is writing style and proficiency. Essays with grammar mistakes are simply unacceptable
